Ontario Roof Pros provides professional chimney & wall flashing in Ontario, CA for residential and commercial properties across the Inland Empire. In a dry climate a failed flashing hides for years. Nothing shows through summer, the first substantial December storm runs water down the framing, and by then the damage inside the wall is considerably older than the stain on the ceiling.
A correct chimney detail has three parts doing their jobs together: step flashing woven into each course, counterflashing cut into a mortar joint or kerfed into stucco and sealed at the reglet, and a cricket on the uphill side of any chimney wide enough to dam water and debris behind it. Miss the cricket and the other two parts spend every winter under a small pond.
What we find instead is usually a bead of sealant smeared along the joint between masonry and roof covering. That is a two-year detail sold as a repair. Sealant belongs inside a reglet as a secondary defense, never as the only thing keeping water out of a house, and the third or fourth application never sticks as well as the first one did to a surface that has been weathering ever since.
Wall terminations are the same problem in a different place. Where a second storey meets a lower roof, where stucco lands on a patio cover, where tile abuts a chimney chase. Kerf-cut counterflashing, weep clearance kept open, and the membrane or underlayment run up behind the finish rather than butted against it and sealed at the surface where the sun can reach it and break the bond within a couple of summers.
On tile we form pan flashing and use lead or malleable aluminum at the courses so the tile can lap the metal properly. On brick we cut into the mortar joint instead of face-sealing the surface, then repoint what we cut once the metal is in place. Both take longer than caulking and both are the reason the detail is still dry in ten years.
If a leak only appears in heavy, wind-driven rain, flashing is the first suspect and the field of the roof is usually innocent. We test with a hose in stages, working uphill last, so the answer comes from evidence rather than from an opinion formed in the driveway. That test also tells us whether one detail is leaking or three of them are, which changes the price and the schedule considerably.
Our licensed and insured team brings the right materials and equipment to every job — tapered polyisocyanurate built to a quarter-inch-per-foot fall, hot-air-welded PVC with a KEE plasticizer, tested ANSI/SPRI ES-1 edge metal and coping, two-ply SBS modified bitumen set in cold adhesive, retrofit drains sleeved into existing cast-iron leaders, walk pads routed between rooftop units — and backs the work with a written workmanship warranty. We serve Ontario and nearby communities including Chino, Chino Hills, Montclair, Upland.

Materials, equipment and how we do chimney & wall flashing
The difference between chimney & wall flashing that lasts and chimney & wall flashing that gets redone in three years is almost always preparation and materials, not the finish you see on day one. We work with tapered polyisocyanurate built to a quarter-inch-per-foot fall, hot-air-welded PVC with a KEE plasticizer, tested ANSI/SPRI ES-1 edge metal and coping, two-ply SBS modified bitumen set in cold adhesive, spec them to the job instead of to the invoice, and write the material grades into the free estimate so you know exactly what you are buying.
Every Ontario job runs the same way: site walk and measurements, written scope and fixed price, protection of the surrounding area, then the work itself with a daily clean-up. Years of roofing work in the Inland Empire means we have already met whatever your property is going to throw at us — awkward access, older construction, an HOA with opinions.

Why Ontario Chooses Ontario Roof Pros
- ✓Core cuts and moisture readings before any recommendation, so the scope is based on evidence rather than a walk-around
- ✓Warehouse and industrial work phased by roof section, with every day's area dried in before the crew leaves
- ✓Proposals name the membrane thickness, insulation, fastening pattern and edge detail, so bids can actually be compared
- ✓We quote the repair beside the replacement and recommend the cheaper one when it is the honest answer
The standards behind chimney & wall flashing
Quality here is not a matter of opinion — it is written down. The chimney & wall flashing work we do in Ontario follows published industry standards: NRCA publishes the Roofing Manual, the industry's reference for details and slope minimums, and Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association sets the shingle application and ventilation guidance the warranties reference. If a contractor cannot tell you which standard a detail comes from, that is worth asking about before you sign.
Every chimney & wall flashing project in Ontario gets the same attention, whether it is a single room or a full commercial job. We show up on schedule, keep the site clean, and stand behind the work — the estimate is free and there is no pressure.
